Stories featuring children of color
MOONSTONE AND MAHOGANY
Only 12% of children’s books are about Black or African American children. Of that 12%, 7% are by Black authors. Only 23% of all children’s books contain non-white characters.
I plan to change that.
Louise Jane, CEO - The Golden Wizard Book Prize
“It stands out as one of the finest works I have encountered regarding autism, primarily because it challenges the conventional narratives that often depict autistic children with a narrow lens. This book serves as a vital reminder that autism is a spectrum, and the experiences of those on it can vary significantly. A praiseworthy resource for both families with autistic members and neurotypical readers.”

About Moonstone & Mahogany
We are an independent hybrid publisher that houses the works of diverse, creative writers and illustrators.
Why a Mahogany tree?
A grand, magical mahogany tree provides a sacred reading place for children to immerse themselves in a world made just for them.
What’s in a name?
There are over 20 shades of the color moonstone, and 20 shades of the color Mahogany. Moonstone represents the lighter end of the spectrum that can be found in skin tones, while Mahogany represents a wide range of light, medium, and darker brown tones. Across the spectrum from light to dark, children will be able to see people who look like them in our stories.
